Reaching Coorg by Air

Similar to most of the hill stations, Coorg also doesn’t have an airport. Hence, tourists who are coming from further parts of the country and the world should get down at the nearest airports which are in Bangalore (243 km) and Mangalore (135 km). From here, they need to either take a bus or hire a taxi to Coorg.

Reaching Coorg by Rail

As hill station of Coorg doesn’t have a railway station, travellers are required to get down at nearest railway junctions. Mangalore railway station and the Mysore railway junction are the two nearest railway stations to Coorg. From these places, one has to travel via road to reach Coorg.

Reaching Coorg by Road

Coorg is well connected by road to many nearby cities. The distance between Coorg and Bangalore is around 243 km which can be covered within 5 and half hours of time by road. The distance between Coorg and Mysore is only 107 km which is easily covered in less than 3 hours of time.

If you are travelling from Hyderabad by road, the common route to Coorg is via Bangalore and Mysore. Hyderabad-Bangalore-Mysore- Hunasuru - Coorg. Another route to travel by road to Coorg from Hyderabad is via Buthpur, Devarabanda, Rudrampeta, Gutturu, Ramanathapura and Suntikoppa. Tourists can either travel by bus (a/c and no ac/c) or hire a taxi or self-drive vehicle to Coorg.
